The first month or so into a new school year a Resource Teacher...aka Interventionist Specialist...aka Special Education Teacher, spends an obscene about of time on paperwork and organizing his/her caseload. This year I have a brand new caseload, I had to say good bye to "my boys" who moved up to a new teacher and open my door to a new set of students (which actually includes some girls this time). In order to get to know them I always do a Student Interest Survey, which I am sure most teachers do, and I always love what they write. Tomorrow I will be handing them out and I am eager to find out what they have to say about themselves and what they would do with a million dollars.
The purpose of this blog today was to give a shout out to Scholastic for their fantastic Student Survey that I will be using tomorrow!! Thanks a bunch.
Don't worry about this blog...starting next week I will be posting more blogs dealing with the topic of this blog. I just need to get to know my students first!!

Welcome to The Math and ELA Resource Page!!
This is a first for me...writing my own blog and I am glad that you have taken time out of your busy day to read it. The purpose of this blog is to sure ideas, stories, articles and ask for advice from other teachers.
I have started my fourth year of teaching, two teaching middle school math and currently starting my second year as a resource support middle school teacher.
This year I am venturing out and teaching an ELA class, which I will need PLENTY of advice from everyone. Since my class actually doesn't start until November (thanks to state standardized testing) I have about a month and a half to plan. I am looking at doing some Project Based Learning but I am still trying to figure out how to do it in ELA. I have done it in a math class but not ELA.
Since I am teaching a math class as well, I will be posting the fantastic projects we are doing in that class as well.
I have just added a new twitter account. Please following me at @elamathresource today!!
Talk to everyone soon!
